even though we bought a house. . .almost a year ago!. . .i still watch the local real estate market. i've acquired a minor fascination with architecture. while on our house hunt, i discovered there's a name (a whole movement really) for the design aesthetic i most like: mid century moden (aka mcm).
when we were house hunting, i liked the idea of finding a mcm diamond in the rough and fixing it up. my husband didn't share that same enthusiasm and certainly couldn't look beyond the rough part to see any sort of gem lying beneath. he had a hard time looking beyond a paint color he didn't like or an un-mowed lawn.
anyway, for the sanctity of our marriage among other things, we were fortunate enough to find a house finished exactly how we wanted. but i still watch for those diamonds in the rough, and i think this would be a fun one to fix up:
